Orphan

Vera Farmiga, Peter Sarsgaard, Isabella Fuhrman -- An orphan is adopted by a family. So many inconsistencies I can't begin to count them. Like "Psycho" without the plot, the direction, or the stars. I would rate it 3 out of 5 stars. (2009-R)

Fair Game

Gregg Henry, Trudie Styler -- A girlfriend, a boyfriend, and a black mamba. I ended up rooting for the snake.I would rate it 4 out of 5 stars. (1988-R)

The Limits of Control

Isaach de Bankole, John Hurt, Bill Murray -- He either sleeps with his eyes open, or he is an insomniac. And what is up with the 2 cups of coffee? It's directed by the same guy who did "Coffee and Cigarettes" -- another loser! You don't speak Spanish, right? I would rate it 2 out of 5 stars. (2008-R)

The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard

Jememy Piven, Ving Rhames, James Brolin--A typical Jeremy Piven movie -- Like "Entourage" only an hour and a half long. Sophomoric and stupid. I loved it! I would rate it as 4 out of 5 stars. (2009-R)

Is Anybody There?

Michael Caine, Bill Milner --Less angst-more magic. A guy, near the end of his life, teaches a kid magic. Did I mention the fact that it needed more magic? I would rate it as 3 out of 5 stars. (2008-PG-13)

Not Forgotten

Simon Baker, Paz Vega -- I certainly wish I had! The convoluted tale of a banker who has a dark secret. Awful! I would rate it as 2 out of 5 stars. (2009-R)

The Ugly Truth

Katherine Heigl, Gerard Butler -- think "Knocked Up", only without the humor. A television producer (Heigl) and her offbeat star (Butler). Predictable! I wouldn't rent this film again. Rate it 2 1/2 out of 5 stars. (2009-R)

Drag Me to Hell

Alison Lohman, Justin Long -- A woman goes to a bank. She can't get an extension on her loan. So she drags her loan officer to Hell. A good scare-fest! I would rate it 4 out of 5 stars. (2009-NR)

The Answer Man

Jeff Daniels, Lauren Graham, Nora Dunn -- Jeff Daniels is the man who knows all the answers. Or does he? A romantic comedy. 4 out of 5 stars. (2009-R)

Will Ferrell: You're Welcome, America

Will Ferrell -- 5 minutes of Will Ferrell as George Bush is about all I can stand. An hour and a half is too long. 3 out of 5 stars. (2009-NR)

Dennis Quaid, Sienna Miller, Joseph Gordon-Levitt -- so unbelievable it was laughable."The Big Easy" it's not! I would rate it at 2 out of 5 stars. (2009-PG-13)

The Maiden Heist

Christopher Walken, Morgan Freeman, William H. Macy, Marcia Gay Harden -- Such a fine cast - a disappointing movie. A trio of art museum guards pull a heist. I would rate it 2 1/2 out of 5 stars. (2008-PG-13)
